— An entertainment or amusement is any activity that gives pleasure and delight, especially when it is done on a large scale. It is often associated with fun and laughter, although it may have a serious or even political purpose like in the case of ceremonial occasions, religious festivals or satire.
Entertainment is not a one-size-fits-all concept and the appeal of different forms depends on personal preferences, cultural background and current mood. What might be entertaining for one person is not necessarily for another, as people can enjoy a wide range of activities from the suspense of a novel or blockbuster film to hands-on engagement with video games that require strategic thinking.
